After graduation she moved to Los Angeles with a renewed urgency to focus on writing, recording and performing. She was able to release two singles in collaboration with Red Fly Music. She co-wrote "Not Another You" with Joacim Person and recorded the song with Drew Ryan Scott who raps the bridge. A second release "Bricks" was written by Red Fly Music and performed by Leihoku.
Leihoku is quite certain her voice is the gift of her Hawaiian grandpa. With a passion to sing she spent her youth in vocal lessons, performed regularly on stage in musical group and theater, won first place in Hawaii's Stars and as a senior in high school landed the lead role in the first high school production in the nation to perform the rock opera Aida. The tour went on to perform at the Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world, in Edinburugh, Scotland. Determined to further her education Leihoku kept her dream close while completing her Bachelor of Arts in Theater.

The recording experience inspired Leihoku to write and reflect on the aloha lifestyle she was missing. Her self-produced EP delivers songs with an upbeat pop vocal and a bit of island rhythm in "We Got Each Other", more contemporary vocals in "Always" and mix of both in the playful"99%". Her ballad "Trouble with You Gone" is a heart felt song about the recent passing of her grandpa where you can feel the emptiness in her life without him.
